![]() Two of my favorite HGTV programs are Island Hunters and Beachfront Bargain Hunt. In these programs people either search for homes on the beach front or on their very own island, or they search for an island to rent for a wedding, honeymoon, or other special event. I lovethe look of the beach and the sounds of the waves rolling in. I am blessed to live about 20 minutes from Pere Marquette Beach, located on beautiful Lake Michigan, which is one of the top 20 beaches in the United States. I don't utilize it or enjoy it as much as I should, though! The beach is a tranquil place, even when it's full of people. Don't you find the water relaxing? I sure do! I often wonder if I would like living on the beach. I think I would, but I know there are some pitfalls to it, as well. It's typically windy by the water, and colder in the Winter (if you live in a colder climate like I do, you'll understand), plus you would get sand tracked in and blown in through open windows. But I think it might be worth it to be able to look out the windows and see the water and the sand, or to see boats sailing by. I wish I lived near an ocean, so I could enjoy dolphins, whales, seals, and other sea life, but for now I will enjoy seeing fish jump up out of the lakes that are ample nearby where I live. And I can always enjoy the ocean via videos and photos, right?
