Use some of the products below to create a focal point on any large wall in your home. Space over a sofa, under a staircase, or at the head of a bed are some ideas of walls that might make a great canvas for your own unique focal point walls.
You can mix and match items, as you choose, but make sure they flow well together. You might also consider vinyl words and phrases, wall art, or hand paintings that you create yourself.
A focal point is something that people notice immediately when they walk into a room. To learn more about creating and defining focal points in your home, visit Home Focal Points.
I got this nautical cookie jar from an aunt for Christmas 2015. It has a similar yet unique design on all 4 sides. She got it at Hobby Lobby for me, because I had mentioned I liked it on a previous trip there with her. Here are the 4 sides...
You can use this to hold cookies, candy, pet treats, and any other small trinkets. I don't have anything in mine, and am enjoying simply looking at it every day.
The Beach Is My Happy Place - Plank Board Sign with Starfish and Rhinestone Accents 12
Two of my favorite HGTV programs are Island Hunters and Beachfront Bargain Hunt. In these programs people either search for homes on the beach front or on their very own island, or they search for an island to rent for a wedding, honeymoon, or other special event.
I lovethe look of the beach and the sounds of the waves rolling in. I am blessed to live about 20 minutes from Pere Marquette Beach, located on beautiful Lake Michigan, which is one of the top 20 beaches in the United States. I don't utilize it or enjoy it as much as I should, though!
The beach is a tranquil place, even when it's full of people. Don't you find the water relaxing? I sure do! I often wonder if I would like living on the beach. I think I would, but I know there are some pitfalls to it, as well. It's typically windy by the water, and colder in the Winter (if you live in a colder climate like I do, you'll understand), plus you would get sand tracked in and blown in through open windows. But I think it might be worth it to be able to look out the windows and see the water and the sand, or to see boats sailing by. I wish I lived near an ocean, so I could enjoy dolphins, whales, seals, and other sea life, but for now I will enjoy seeing fish jump up out of the lakes that are ample nearby where I live. And I can always enjoy the ocean via videos and photos, right?
